Conflict-of-interest policy
1. GENERAL FRAMEWORK

Our office’s primary priority is to act honestly, fairly and professionally in the best interests of its clients.
Within this framework and in accordance with the law, our office has taken appropriate measures to identify, prevent and manage conflicts of interest that may arise in the course of its activities.
Taking the foregoing and the characteristics of our activities into account, our office has developed a conflict-of-interest management policy, of which this document is a summary. Further information can be obtained on request and will be provided on a durable medium.

2. IDENTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Conflicts of interest may arise between:
– our office (including any person connected with it, such as, in particular, directors, managers, persons exercising control over the undertaking, employees involved in providing insurance intermediation services, and sub-agents—hereinafter “connected persons”) and its clients;
– clients themselves.
Taking the characteristics of our office into account, we have identified potential conflicts of interest. The following are some examples:
– situations in which a financial gain can be made or a financial loss avoided at the client’s expense;
– our office has an interest in the outcome of an insurance intermediation service or transaction that differs from the client’s interest;
– our office has a financial or other incentive to favour the interests of another client or group of clients over those of the client concerned;
– our office carries on the same professional activity as the client;
– our office receives from a person other than the client a benefit in connection with the insurance intermediation service provided to the client, in the form of money, goods or services, other than the commission or fees normally charged for that service.

3. CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST MANAGEMENT POLICY
Our office has implemented a series of measures to manage conflicts of interest that may arise. These measures include:
– compliance by staff and any other person connected with the office with an internal instruction setting out the principles and measures to be observed when managing conflicts of interest;
– an appropriate remuneration policy for staff and any other person connected with the office;
– a policy on gifts and other benefits;
– organisational measures that ensure the confidentiality of data communicated by clients;
– organisational measures providing for separate management where necessary;
– a policy on arbitration advice;
– a policy under which, if a specific conflict of interest cannot be resolved, our office reserves the right to refuse the request of the client concerned, solely to protect that client’s interests.

4. INFORMATION TO THE CLIENT
Where the organisational or administrative arrangements made by our office to manage conflicts of interest are not sufficient to ensure, with reasonable confidence, that the risk of damage to the client’s interests will be prevented, our office will inform the client in writing or on another durable medium, before acting on the client’s behalf, of the general nature and/or source of those conflicts of interest. The final decision on how to proceed in the situation underlying the conflict of interest rests with the client.
If a specific conflict of interest cannot be resolved, our office reserves the right to refuse the request of the client concerned, solely to protect that client’s interests.

5. MONITORING THE CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST MANAGEMENT POLICY
In accordance with the regulations, our office maintains and regularly updates a register of conflicts of interest that arise and entail a material risk of damage to the interests of one or more clients. Recording conflicts of interest in the register may result in the list of potential conflicts of interest being updated, and vice versa.
Where necessary, our office updates or amends its conflict-of-interest management policy.
Persons connected with our office are required to comply with the internal instructions concerning the conflict-of-interest policy.
